Paying tribute to the Church’s historic presence within the community whilst addressing its modern needs. With the amalgamation of two congregations at one site, the ‘new’ Brunswick Uniting Church saw the need to examine its physical environment and explore changes that will not only improve functionality, but also give both former congregations a sense of shared ownership. This Master Plan illustrates concepts for renewal of the main worship space to provide liturgical flexibility, construction of new administrative facilities and adaptive re-use of other existing structures to accommodate fellowship and educational needs. All of the new facilities focus on a large outdoor ‘commons’.
The historic presence on Sydney Road is preserved as the ceremonial face of the church, while new entries and circulation address modern needs
