Our goal is to integrate spirituality and design at that critical juncture where they join to become a sacred environment.

In 2007, we expanded into the specialised realm of design for spiritual expression by incorporating Prism Studio and its founder, Randall Lindstrom, as integral parts of the pmdl team. As a result, we are able to offer churches and allied organisations significant depth of recognised expertise to complement our long-standing reputation in education, hospitality and other institutional projects.

Experience includes cathedrals, churches, college chapels, and multi-faith sacred spaces at hospitals and universities, for clients in Australia, Singapore, New Zealand, Ireland and the USA.

Our special interest in 'places of spirit' is centred as much in process as product. We understand the relationship between mission and facilities, and view buildings as tools of ministry, rather than as objects in themselves. In addition to architectural and planning services, we provide consultation, formation, and facilitation of a discernment process designed to develop consensus and build community. This process has proven highly successful in increasing ownership of the outcomes.

With experience in nearly all Christian denominations, and with numerous interfaith and multi-faith organisations, we offer a broad understanding of faith traditions, and great agility in design response. Our projects range from traditional to contemporary. More importantly, however, we strive to see that all projects transcend 'style' and 'trend', in favour of creativity, integrity, and appropriateness.
