The design focus for this Aquatic & Fitness Centre was to create a multi-purpose sports facility with a contemporary identity.

A thorough refurbishment of the early 1980s building has seen previously dark internal spaces transformed to utilise natural daylight.  Along with uplifting light, the new facility boast views over the school, creating a strong visual connection to the surrounding buildings and communal spaces, thus shaping an energetic hub for the campus.

Refurbishment work includes: a replacement 25m swimming pool; new change-room facilities; gymnasium upgrades, with a new cantilevered stadium seating area constructed, optimising the natural light and creating viewing spaces for spectators; and transformation of the music department into a fitness centre and staff offices.

The Aquatic & Fitness Centre officially opened on 17 March 2011.
